An F1 platform was newly developed specifically for the all-new Sequoia in order to pursue handling stability and quality riding comfort like that of vehicles in a class above and also to reliably transmit the massive torque generated by the large displacement engine to the road surface. For the fundamental suspension, a high-mount, independent double wishbone suspension was adopted in the front and an independent double wishbone suspension was adopted in the rear as a first for a Toyota SUV.
